Easter

I don't know if I have any English-language (or maybe I should write: non-Swedish) readers anymore, but occasionally I think at least one or two pops in, so I'll write in English this time, since this is maybe a bit exotic to non-Finns :). On Easter Saturday it is traditional to have a bonfire in our area. It is to scare away witches and evil spirits, which are believed to be loose on this night - I think it's just nice to have a fire and to have a chance to burn branches and stuff from last summer :). This year I joined forced with my neighbor, and we managed to gather a very nice little pile. A friend also joined with her family, so we were a few people enjoying the show. A very nice evening, thank you to all!! Here a summary of the evening:

Sausage-grilling is almost a must...

And then my favorite photos from tonite, not only because of the subject - me and D :) - but also because Barbro is such a good photographer and manages to capture the mood so well. Tack Barbro!

Hej! I am still around, just not as much as usual. Nice bonfire! We didn't make it to Jalasjärvi for our village's traditional pääsiäiskokko so it was nice to see your pictures here. It appears you had a very nice Easter. Ours was quite laid back. Tiina is doing good. Only six more times of radiation and it will be over! Hopefully for good. She is looking pretty much "fried" in those areas. It will continue to get worse for about three weeks after.
I had a tour of Parliament the other day and coffee with Minister Astrid Thors. I joined SFP last month so new members in Nyland were invited. 15 of us showed up. I have mixed feelings. I like how everyone is a big, happy family and I like their ideas but I feel so out of place because I understand less than 50% of spoken Swedish but do not speak it, except for a few words :( Maybe I will learn now??? :)

Hi Matt - nice to hear from you. I have been checking out your blog from time to time, and was a bit worried when there was nothing written, but I'm relieved to hear everyting is ok with Tiina. You can practise your Swedish here on my blog :)! I haven't decided which party I belong to yet :(
